1. Who we are

Life Calculators (lifecalculators.com.au) is an Australian website providing free calculation tools for personal and financial decision-making. We are the data controller for any information processed in connection with your use of this site.

2. What data we collect

Calculator inputs: All calculations on Life Calculators run entirely within your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you enter into our calculators are never transmitted to our servers and are not stored anywhere. When you close the browser tab, your inputs are gone.

Server logs: Our web hosting provider automatically records standard server log data when you visit any website. This includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and the pages you visit. This is standard practice for all websites and is used for security and performance monitoring. Log data is retained for 30 days and is not linked to any personal identity.

Analytics: We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools are most used and how visitors find the site. This data is aggregated and anonymised — we see "500 people visited the BMI calculator today", not who those people are.

3. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to function correctly — for example, to remember your preferences within a session.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party marketing cookies. We do not participate in cross-site tracking. If you block all cookies in your browser, the site will still function normally.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the site:

• Vercel — web hosting and content delivery. Vercel processes server requests and may log IP addresses as part of standard hosting operations. See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts — we load fonts from Google's CDN. This results in a request to Google's servers when you first load the site. See Google's privacy policy.

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

5. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request access to your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Make a complaint about how we handle your information

Because we collect minimal data and most of what we do collect (server logs) is not linked to your identity, it's unlikely we would be able to locate records specific to you. But if you have any questions, please contact us.

6. Data security

The site is served over HTTPS. Calculator data never touches our servers. Server log data is stored securely and access is restricted to essential personnel only. We retain log data for 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not notify you of minor changes, but if we make any significant changes to how we handle data, we will make this prominent on the site.
